What to expect
- Your coach will be non judgemental about you or your situation. Things are as they are and it is important that you are totaly honest with yourself during the coaching sessions.
- You can expect some challenging questions from your coach. It is up to you if you want to answer them? You can of course answer them without disclosing your answer to your coach! Your answer could be the key to unlock your route to success. Your coach only needs to hear the answer as it may determin the next question.
- You can expect to be in cotrol at all times. If the session is making you feel uncomfortable or you want to change tack, let your coach know!
The coaching process
- Once you have made your decision to go ahead with coaching your coach will send you an information pack. This pack will include amongst other things a contract - outlining both your and your coaches commitment to the coaching process. You should return this contract along with payment to your coach before your first session.
- The first coaching session is an informal 'get to know each other session' where we will build a 'coaching alliance' on which the rest of the sessions will be built. At this session you will be given a couple of exercises to start before the first coaching sessions. These are designed to help you think about the issues and ambitions that you want to work on and will also help you to recognise the balance that you need to create in your life.
- The rest of the sessions will be based around the following
- We will define the session goal - what you would like to achieve by the end of the session
- We will relate this back to your higher level goals to confirm it's relevance
- Your coach will ask questions that help to discover the true reality of your goal or issue
- This will naturally lead to a number of options for the way forward
- We will work on defining, focussed and targetted actions that you will take the responsibility for and commit to taking.
- It is the actions that will move you forward!
- Once the agreed nnumber of sessions have been completed the decision rests with you as to whether you continue your coaching sessions or not. Only you can know if further sessions will be of benefit to you.
